Launching Careers after Conflict: How Blue Hope, a talent program, uses Campground
Context
Blue Hope supports tech professionals affected by conflict & human rights violations to relaunch successful careers abroad at peace. They’re launching a Gen AI-powered training program to support 2,000 refugees and empower them to access the tech job market.
The Blue Hope training platform sits in the context of a larger initiative in partnership with Na’Amal, the World Bank, and researchers from Harvard and Cambridge to assess the best practices to connect refugees globally with remote work opportunities.
What happened before Campground?
The founder, Leticia Galdón, was running all operations in Airtable, Google Spreadsheets, Typeform, and a separate AI Learning Management System. Leticia describes this former approach as plastering solutions together. The result was an overwhelming workflow that “didn’t feel like one thing.”
“If I could connect all the other systems together, maybe I would have a similar feeling of ‘one thing.’ But that would require ME to figure out what it would look like, whereas Campground already has the vision of what it would look like.”
What processes does Blue Hope run in Campground?
Applications, with automated email acknowledgements
Tasks - a new process that was implemented thanks to Campground
Resource Library
Directory to promote mentorship and networking
Campground helps Blue Hope visualize and execute their entire program experience end-to-end and in one place, eliminating the need for multiple one-size-fits-all softwares. Blue Hope uses Campground from the application stage all the way through community engagement to create positive experiences for participants.
“Forget Typeform, forget Airtable.”
What are the most valuable aspects of Campground?
A system of record for participant data (far better than spreadsheets, which don’t serve as a true database)
Reusable fields (set up the data you want to collect once, and then it’s consistent from one cohort to another)
Automations: sending automatic emails to those who are part of the program with instructions
Tracking tasks
Campground listens and builds with and for you.
Forcing your program to adapt to platforms that are not built for your needs can be ineffective and expensive.
“You’re really taking the time to understand our needs and design an experience that truly delivers. That is very unique.”
Leticia encourages program people to work with us because:
We get it – we are program managers ourselves and we know how things work when you’re trying to launch a program and prepare a cohort.
We’ll save you money – you won’t need to hire and manage your own platform administrators or developers because it’s that easy to implement and start using.
We want feedback – becoming an early believer in our product means you can shape what it looks like with us.
We provide hands-on support – you’ll feel confident knowing we’re paying attention to the details and we got your back.
“When we need to handle the onboarding of 2000 people, I need to feel like I have a tech partner that is ready to take on that challenge and help me build the infrastructure accordingly.”
If you also run a workforce program and / or resonate with Leticia’s old approach of “plastering solutions together” to execute one program, you need Campground. Email sruti@campground.fyi to learn more.
